E-Tech Notes #16: Microsoft Office – Excel

The Microsoft Office also includes a spreadsheet application. It is a very useful application for inputting data such as Grades, Score sheets, Pay rolls and Inventory management.

On our Junior High School experiences, Excel was useful for database purposes, for the intention of keeping important data for the use of other applications.

This year, on our 1st semester of Senior High School, we were able to experience Excel in something that will be useful for our future. Some of us may become future teachers, contest judge, accountants, bookkeepers and data analyzers.

And so, we we’re tasked to finish the following Performance Tasks:

  • Computing Score sheet data for a Cooking Show (techFactors Inc.’s E-Tech Book, p. 59)
  • Computing a Class record (techFactors Inc.’s E-Tech Book, p. 80)
  • Computing Payrolls
  • Adding a checkbox to a worksheet
  • Adding a drop-down list
  • Protecting a worksheet

We we’re able to finish the task through analyzing and exploring different MS Excel Formulas. Personally, for an Accountancy, Business and Management Student like me, I find this activity very useful because it helps me keep track data and get the result more quickly.
